Following on from the Yeezy Boost 350 series, Kanye West brought out a very sensational limited edition sneaker in the summer of 2017 that was referred to as being a dad sneaker with its chunky texture and comfort. This series was named the Yeezy Boost 700 and was, in terms of retail price, the most expensive of the Yeezy series. The most notable Yeezy 700 by far is the widely talked about Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 "Wave Runner", which was also the very first release in the series and later got another release.

Since then, the Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 "Sun" and Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 V2 "Cream" models have come along, each offering their unique take on how the Yeezy 700 series can be unfolded and modernized. The Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 V2 "Cream" variant consists of soft transitions and contrasts, whereas the Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 "Sun" model runs a dominant screaming orange with barely there soft transitions. This naturally makes the limited edition sneaker appeal to the more general sneaker enthusiast, but also the sneaker enthusiast who really dares to try something more unfamiliar and barely common.

Furthermore, Kanye West decided to expand the range of the Yeezy 700 model, which was expressed through a V3 version of the hyped sneaker. This model partially had some of the same features that were otherwise common to see on the first versions for example the Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 "Mauve". The difference was the silhouette very innovatively designed which involved an alien like design that formed a sort of cage around the sneaker itself. The series attracted a lot of attention due to the completely unconventional design, and the first release came out late in 2019 and was called Adidas Yeezy 700 V3 "Azael". The extremely limited sneaker sold out in seconds. Since then, more V3 models have been added including the all-black and simplistic Adidas Yeezy 700 V3 "Alvah" and the predator-like Adidas Yeezy 700 V3 "Arzareth".
